HOW IT WORKS
Air-lift is used to lift water, or mixtures of water and sand, coming from processes of settlement.
The compressed air, injected in the expansion chamber of air-lift, mixes with mixture of sand and water present on bottom of tank. The new mixture composed by air, water, sand, is less dense than the surrounding one and rises along the suction pipe. Mixture exits from top part of pipe, which is above the water level. Advantage of this system is that, as there are not parts in movement, air-lift is suitable to suck abrasive substances.
Air-lift is composed by a suction pipe, two inlet pipes for ai and water for counter/washing, an expansion chamber and a zone of discharge made by a T-union, which permits easy inspection in case of need. All is in AISI 304 stainless steel.
